Ready....go!

So, blogging. That's fun. I should really add to my lists of aspirations and obligations and projects. I just don't have enough projects really. So, I'm gonna start a new one! I'll see how often I can blog. If it starts going badly I may have to make rules to keep up my posts, but for now..I'll just do this when I feel like it.

Today I...
attempted running. I think i almost made it a mile at a painfully slow jog. Then I walked 4 more miles home. It was a loop, and I kindof thought I'd be able to cover more of it, faster. However, a short fraction in I started dying. I'm hopeful that I have exercise-induced asthma, but I probably just am lamely out of shape and pathetic. I'm leaning towards the second one because I woke up sore and still with shaky-hand syndrome after a bit of driving range yesterday..who knew golf was physically demanding?

watched an episode of 30 days, you know? that guy from the McDonald's documentary?  He was doing one on gay parenting (a conservative christian woman who is totally-anti-gay-parenting and believes its just horrible to let gay people raise children) lives with two gay men and their 4 adopted boys for a month.  I have to say I was surprised at her unwavering attitude at the end.  As one of the parents said, "Is no home better than this one?"  .It was as if the woman would have still said "yes." Though she agreed they were both loving, wonderful parents. This makes me want to bang my head against a wall.  I am continually frustrated by people's unwillingness to challenge their own beliefs.  I think its good to have strong beliefs, just be careful what you base them on. And don't let them be static. I think my own opinions on this and similar matters have changed drastically over the past 2 years or so. I haven't got it all figured out, but
28One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29"The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] 30Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.'[b] 31The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c]There is no commandment greater than these."

So, how would you love your neighbors if they were gay? Or homeless children? by denying them the right to have children? By denying them a chance at a loving, if somewhat less-conventional family?
just sayin.

(OH, great, Bethany.. start your blog off with controversy)

Now I'm going...
To puppysit ... or in other words, swim, play with dogs, and watch someone elses t.v. Whilst making money.

Cheers!
