Today I had school AGAIN!
gosh. school. sigh. and homework. BIGGER sigh.
But, today was better. I remembered why I am an English major--not because I love to read (which I do, but i prefer a modern YA novel over literature from 860 or whatever), but because English professors can be so gosh darn freaking hilarious and witty and weird. Case in point,
my Brit Lit 1 professor (i already took Brit lit 5 or something, but order is overrated) on her teaching philosophy, "I believe in that thing about how you should teach a man to fish instead of giving him fish so he can feed himself. Well, of course, only if he likes fish. I LOVE fish. I eat it 4 times a week. I'm probably dying of mercury poisoning. But I get it at that whole foods store.."
haha, so nothing like a good focused lecture.
meanwhile my desk neighbor was writing a spectacular poem about Zombies, in which he ended up rhyming "dat" to "at" and I asked him if the attacking zombie arm was attached to anything, to which he responded that it was half-detached and pointed to that part of his text.
Then after I got out of class today I had an interview with Science Matters, an after school science program I could potentially be a teacher for. It looks promising, but we shall see. The interview went well, but I did have troubles finding the interview location at first. I got to the address and was like, "Um...that's a liquor store.. Stupid Craigslist. Scammed again." But the actual place was two doors down.
Today I missed:
My friend Holly and an old class I took in high school called, "Modern Mythology" where we watched a lot of star wars movies and I explained Beowulf or something with lego scenes.
Today I read: Some more of This Lullaby. (MockingJay is out, but I haven't finished Hunger Games..I'm always behind the times).
Now I'm gonna go do something productive and then babysit a small Asian child who constantly growls and headbutts me.
Best Wishes!
